You wouldn't believe it and it's the scariest thing I have ever heard.
First, I saw this program on Discovery in which they were first presenting the obesity virus theory. They looked at two twins who ate the same things and acted the same, but when they ran some tests, they identified something different in their body: it was what they called the 'obesity virus'. It is actually an adenovirus, something like an antibody to a certain strain: Ad-36. After the Ad-36 they also found Ad-37. And there are some more, don't you worry... These are only two of the little suckers!
What's worse? That if this is true, then this little thing is highly contageous. And, if you are eating healthy stuff and moving and you are still fat, this might be one of the causes. It IS scary, isn't it? That would answer some people's question: why can't I lose weight?
We don't know where in the world you have the biggest 'contamination', but USA is in the top. So be careful to wash your hands. It might help more than you think. Stay way when people cough and sneeze.
And don't imagine you can't do anything about it: you can live a healthy life and lose the extra weight. It's harder, but you can.
What are adenoviruses? They are viruses that infect the tissue of the eyes, the urinary tract, the repisatory system, the intestines. Having problems with any of them in particular? Anyway, it seems like they can be treated, but not with antibiotics, and it also seems like they haven't found a cure yet for the adenoviruses responsible for obesity.
Losing weight and staying healthy is easy, when you care. Forget famishing yourself: there are other ways.
